Timeslip (1970-1971)

Substantial, internally coherent series that takes the time to develop its storylines fully and isn't afraid to present difficult ideas to a young audience. Solid performances from all, with Spencer Banks's voice changing over the course of the series! The careful and tight writing stands up to, and rewards, multiple watches.

Tito i ja (1992)

Good, slightly absurdist, pointed comedy by the well-known director Goran Marković. Could make a good dual watch with God Exists, Her Name is Petrunija.

Today They Took My Son (2016)

A bit heavy-handed perhaps, but powerful and necessary, with effective acting from Elias Naoum, and nice cinematography.

Tom and Huck (1995)

Not very good but worth seeing for Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Rachael Leigh Cook makes a likeable Becky Thatcher as well.

Tom Brown's Schooldays (2005)

Nice if uneven Tom Brown with a high concentration of charismatic young actors: Alex Pettyfer, Zac Fox, Dane Carter, and last but not least, Hugh Mitchell, who played Colin Creevey in the Harry Potter films.

Tom Brown's Schooldays (1971)

Really solid and enjoyable. The most interesting Tom Brown these days, however, may be the 1916 silent, incidentally now an 'Orphan Work' under EU law.
