Synopsis
A teacher opens a time capsule that has been dug up at his son's elementary school; in it are some chilling predictions -- some that have already occurred and others that are about to -- that lead him to believe his family plays a role in the events that are about to unfold.

7 / 10 6 / 10 This is a decent science fiction movie which confronts what, for us, must be the worst catastrophe we can imagine: the destruction of the entire world. No last minute reprieve either - no shallow, cocksure all-American hero with muscles on his muscles to save us all at the last moment. This is a very cerebral film, which seems to suggest that nothing is wholly meaningless or wasted, but that everything is connected in some great plan. Nicolas Cage is superb, and Chandler Canterbury shows his acting mettle, particularly in the very moving final scene between father and son.
