Synopsis
Lahar is a story of survival and hope amidst devastation, told with both humour and honesty. Based on true events. Set in tropical Pampanga, near Manila, Lahar chronicles the destruction of Mount Pinatubo?s volcanic eruption as lava buried entire towns. The effects of the 1991 eruption are seen through the eyes of a young boy, Bobot. Lahar explores the lives of central characters as they come to grips with the reality of life after a disaster. An astute and optimistic film giving insight into Philippino culture.
