Synopsis
Set in 1958. Young Marten and Annika, both orphans, are sent to a rural village to spend the Summer in the care of the local undertaker. As the man starts a romance with the local school teacher, the kids experience first love and grow so close that when it comes time for them to part they run off in an attempt to stay together.

There are better films out there but this one's charming.

Absolutely stunning. A wonderful film full of gentle humour, but with a serious, even darker, edge, as the kids fight for their right to love, to control their own lives and to live with whomever they like, against adult authority and against the state. Unmissable.
