Synopsis
School boy Cestmír is one day transported by a blue glowing meteorite to a planet of magical flowers, each of which grants its possessor some magical ability. Cestmír, after smelling one of the flowers which he brings back from the planet, is able to fly. When others are drawn to the flower planet, they also come back with flowers that grant them magical abilities. For example, one flower causes the person who smells it to rejuvenate; another boosts the person's mental ability, and confers mental skills, such as the ability to speak fluent Japanese. However, the city's barber plans to use the flowers for his own selfish purposes...

- Comprising 6 episodes
- The Czech title of this miniseries means "The Flying Cestmír".
- This miniseries was a joint Czechoslovak/West German production. The West German version of the series was dubbed into German from the original Czech, with the protagonist's name changed from Cestmír to Ferdinand, and transmitted as "Der Fliegende Ferdinand" ("The Flying Ferdinand").
- A (German language) book based on the series and written by the series' scriptwriter Milos Macourek was published in 1984 under the title "Der fliegende Ferdinand".
- Both the Czech and German language versions of this miniseries have been released on DVD (Amazon links at top-right of this page), though none of the DVD releases have English subtitles.
