Synopsis
On a hot summer's day, a group of sub-proletarian Roman boys play and laugh in the Marrana, a tributary of the Tiber. The narration, written by Pasolini, tells of their personalities, and of what became of them as adults, in this haunting, elegiac visual poem.

- Duration: approximately 10 1/4 minutes
- Directed by Cecilia Mangini (b. 1927), this was one of a number of documentary short films made by Mangini in collaboration with Pier Paolo Pasolini. "La Canta delle marane" ("Song of the Marrana") was inspired by Pasolini's 1955 novel "Ragazzi di vita". None of the boys who appear in this movie are credited, so no cast details for this film are available.
