Synopsis
Three young teens in an abandoned house overhear a phone conversation which seems to indicate that a villainous deed will happen a few days later at a location identified only by its being the place of the 'Tyrant King'. Together, they decide to solve the mystery of where and what the 'Tyrant King' is, in a quest which will lead them on an extraordinary odyssey across 60s London.
Notes
- Comprising 6 episodes, each around 25 minutes in length
- Based on the 1967 book "The Tyrant King - A London Adventure" by British author Aylmer Hall (1914-1987)
- This miniseries was notable for its progressive rock music soundtrack, which included music from The Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Cream, the Rolling Stones, and The Nice.
- Although recorded in colour, this series was originally transmitted by Thames Television in black and white only, and was never repeated. However, the Network (Region 2) DVD of this series (Amazon UK link at top right of this page) presents the complete colour version of this series, which was transferred from original film materials specifically for the DVD release.
