Synopsis

Amsterdam in 1974. With his daughter Karo, and Karo's mother Dalia, in tow, artist and political activist Raven, and his group of friends, find a vacant floor of a warehouse loft space, perfect for their intended utopia of no walls, no rules and free love. Raven is an uncompromising idealist, a man unwilling to toy with the idea, let alone apparent need, for money, the seeming leader of this small band of artists and non-conformists. Karo's mother, Dalia, is willing to go along with her partner's utopian plans - that is until Raven meets sprite-like revolutionist Alice, and takes her in as his new lover. When Alice's children, Daniel (Samuel du Chatinier) and Tara, move into the commune, Karo is at first apprehensive towards them, but soon enough they are her constant companions; and with a surprise summer trip to a rural island, Karo finds her first love in Daniel, her new "brother".

This movie is about living in a squatters community and as seen through the eyes of a little girl who doesn't really understand what's happening around her. Then she meets this beautiful-looking boy (Samuel du Chatinier) and then things began to change and her relationship, even at her young age, became more intimate with him. A great movie and Samuel is really great, in my opinion, in this movie.
