Great movie!

You won't get a much better 30s atmosphere movie than this one. The period detail is amazing. Tyler Hoechlin plays the lead role as the son of a gangster hitman. He's sharing the screen with cinema stars like Tom Hanks and Paul Newman yet holds his own. A brooding story reflecting the harsh, brutal world of godfather-style gangsters. The car the father and son drive in makes you want to get behind the wheel of one of those marvellous contraptions!

Violent and dramatic, 'The Road to Perdition' is a great film. Everyone just about gets bumped off. I even feared at the end when Michael goes back to the old farming couple for sanctuary that the wife was going to come out with a gun and blow HIS head off!

Oh yes, a great movie. I love the cast - ol' Paul Newman is perfect in his role, as is Tom Hanks and the perfidious Jude Law. Tyler Hoechlin - well, I was stunned by his performance. He has a substantial role in the movie and bears the emotional and psychological burden. It's a movie dealing with fathers and sons, with justice and injustice, with retaliation and atonement. The setting is outstanding, the depiction of the genre and the contemporary atmosphere needs to be applauded. You feel like being there, in the dark, gloomy 30s.

I like Paul Newman's line: "This is the life we chose, the life we lead. None of us will see heaven."

I never seen Tom Hanks in movie like this. I thought very good story and film is good but much violence. At end it seem silly that boy go to place where man and lady dont got no boy and it seem like made too much for film and not really happen.
