All time great actor Charles Chaplin and one of his all time best movie is "The Kid". The boy acting and facial expressions were great in this movie
My Movie Rating:

For my money some of the masterpieces of the silent era are Fritz Lang's Metropolis; Anthony Asquith's Underground; G.W. Pabst's Pandora's Box and Diary of a Lost Girl; Victor Sjöström's The Phantom Carriage, Ingeborg Holm, Klostret i Sendomir, Vem dömer and The Wind; and Josef von Sternberg's The Last Command and The Docks of New York. Chaplin is different: he has one foot in an older tradition, comes trailing clouds of music-hall, and you kind of either like that or not. And in my view some of his films aren't as good as they are often claimed to be: for instance, Modern Times is far surpassed by À nous la liberté. But His New Job and A Film Johnnie are fascinating and great fun, The Cure is impeccably funny and the polished unrequited love drama The Bank shows us Chaplin learning to make the audience feel for him, a power he'd use to the full in his feature masterpieces City Lights, The Gold Rush and The Kid. And of The Kid we can also say that it comes by its sentiment honestly: Chaplin was sent to an orphanage as a young child and found the experience lastingly traumatic, and this echoes through The Kid. It has therefore been called Chaplin's most personal film.

This is a classic film that pulls at your heart. Mr. Chaplin proves his movie mettle. Jackie Coogan shows why he will go on to stardom. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for his Grandson Kieth. Well worth watching.

The very first movie to catapult a boy actor to worldwide fame and recognition. Absolutely brilliant.

I seen old film on TCM last year when do night of Charlie Chaplin movies. For such very old film that got no sound it was very good. I like film a lot and like to see other films Jackie Coogan do.
