Hugh O'Conor was great throughout the film (except the end). I always did like Liam Neeson, I still do, but i didn't expect him in this kind of role. It did seem kind of strange for Liam, but Hugh was great and again except the ending Hugh's performance made this a very good movie.

A great film. I loved it. Funny in some parts but very sad too. If you don't like unhappy endings, I wouldnt recommend it, but it's definitely worth watching. Brilliant performances from Hugh O'Conor and Liam Neeson.

Very well made and extremely well acted. The ending is not recommended for the tender-hearted. (who am I kidding? That's me!) But I give it high marks for good use of talent.

A stark tale of a priest's (Liam Neeson as Michael Lamb) doomed love for a boy (Hugh O'Connor as Owen Kane) at a home run by the Catholic church. Owen is epileptic, and has already suffered beatings from his mother (Frances Tomelty) and her various boyfriends over the years. But when she puts him in the boy's home, his suffering continues, this time at the hands of the headmaster (Ian Bannen). Lamb, whose father has just died and who has lost his faith, runs away with Owen to London, chased by the police. Although some may rightly question Lamb's methods, it is a moving, if chilling, story of the lengths to which the priest will go to save Owen from the world....
