6 / 10 8 / 10 Excellent disaster/survival flick with a fine, memorable performance by the multitalented Tom Holland, fresh from Billy Elliot: The Musical, in a testing role. In an early scene he gets a chance to show off his impressive gymnastics skills. Based on the story of a real family (from Spain, not England) and has been praised for its accuracy. The name-shouting is distractingly excessive in spots but that's a minor problem. The prolific Geraldine Chaplin, a daughter of Charlie Chaplin who gave an unforgettable performance in Cría cuervos, has a bit part. Could make a good dual watch with Kameradschaft and A Night to Remember.

10 / 10 6 / 10 Good looking movie with some really good acting. Would love to see all these boys in more movies. I have some major problem with this film and I'm giving it a lower rating on IMDb, but I don't really want to get into it here.

My Movie Rating: 10 / 10 Very good entertaining movie, lots of great effects, and about 4 really cute and charismatic boys! Most of them barefoot and in shorts for most of the movie. Worth a view.
My Movie Rating: 10 / 10 I agree the acting of Tom Holland was very good but the film lacked any true sense of the appalling disaster in relation to the many thousands of others who suffered. It concentrated only on one family which, after all, lost no one whereas others lost much more. Had it not been based on a true story I would've thought the plot was too contrived with everything falling neatly into place. An okay film but nothing great.
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10 A VERY powerful movie! Tom Holland deserves an academy award for his outstanding performance! all 3 of the boys were great, but I was the most impressed with Tom! a star in the making! I can't wait to see what Tom does next.
I highly recommend this movie, it did not disappoint me in the slightest!
