Thomas Horn is excellent .. but overall I was a little disappointed in the narrative. The trailers hyped it to be something it is not (as trailers tend to do).
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10It is one of my favorite movies.Thomas is a excellent actor.
My Movie Rating: 10 / 10It's hard to rate this movie fairly. The lead actor is good, and at times riveting in his persistance. But the story, and particularly the ending, is not . The movie was enjoyable, but it really leeched a particularly non-believable story from a historical and utterly horrific event.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10Overlooking the character's autistic ticks, its an adorable movie with lots of emotional screen time for Thomas Horn's character. He can really act, and knows when to treat people badly. The cinematography is top standard, plenty close ups of his face, hands, bare feet and smile. The male leads are solid.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10I rate this film mainly for Thomas Horn's marvellous acting. The plot verged on the ridiculous and the boy, Oskar, seemed at times the sort of obnoxious brat the old man (good performance from veteran, Max von Sydow) should've shoved off the bridge. Wondering if Oskar possibly suffered from some autistic-type syndrome, I noted he did a lot of screaming, swearing and running about - but what for? He treated the doorman and the old man like - in his words - "shit". The film has had generally poor reviews mainly regarding the plot of a boy followed by his mother knocking on doors all over New York. However, for a newcomer, Thomas Horn has shown great acting ability. He carried the film extremely well and incredibly confidently but was let down by the unbelievable storyline.
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10I thought it was okay Thomas Horn did great but the story I found a bit slow moving and unrealistic. what kind of mother lets her nine year old go all around New York on his own at all times day and night. I do recommended it.
