I would give it a higher rating, but in the last half hour or so the writing really slips. The character conflicts evaporate as they quickly wrap up the story. Sawyer's relationship with his older cousin could have been more developed. I did like the last scene and I agree with others about the positive message and themes.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10This movie make me cry when I watch it.
My Movie Rating: 10 / 10Really enjoyed this film!
Great cast: Nathan Gamble, Cozi Zuehlsdorff,
Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd,
and Kris Kristofferson
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10Liked it more than I thought I would. A solid 6, with an extra point for Nathan Gamble's excellent acting.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10Based on REAL events, there's nothing better than real life, at least in my book! Nathan was outstanding, he kept my interest throughout the movie. I hope this movie/story inspires kids to get involved with wildlife preservation. Free Willy was a great story, but it's based on fiction, this movie is based actual events! note: during the closing credits, are clips of the real Dolphin and the real Sawyer Nelson!
My Movie Rating: 10 / 10In a world in which horror and action movies reign supreme, it is refreshing to see a genuine family movie surface, probably the best since the first Free Willy movie, which pretty much follows a similar pattern. Nathan Gamble does a wonderful job and proves that he is one of Hollywood finest boy actors. We quite frankly need more movies like this, movies that have the potential to inspire children and adults alike and make all of us aware of the most important things in life.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10Pleasant, but forgettable
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10A nice movie, right up my alley, despite the flaws.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10I thought this movie was so family friendly that it was almost unbearable at times. Contrived by the numbers plot, some truely horrible direction with some scenes so dumb that it was embarrassing. I rate the movie itself 4 out of 10, but give it 2 points extra, one for Nathan Gamble who does a decent job and the other for the cameos of Kris Kristofferson and Morgan Freeman. The actor who played the wounded soldier was less than ordinary.
