7 / 10 When you want to tell a boring story, you had better not tell it at all. Cutting it up in little fragments is not going to help a bit.
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10 8 / 10 Very good performances by the kids. The movie itself is unremarkable, lots of flashbacks that interfere with the cognitive fluency of the film. The characters are all very believable but the viewer is not left with much satisfaction by the sequence of events. Not a waste of time but it didn't engage me as much as I would have liked.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10 I'm torn between giving this a 7 or an 8, but Chase and Cayden did such wonderful jobs, and it was a very touching movie... so

Average family drama. Not quite as poignant as it's trying to be. Cayden Boyd is excellent as the younger Michael, seen in substantial flashbacks throughout the film. Chase Ellison is okay, too, although I found his big climactic scene at the end a little unconvincing. Unlike others, I didn't have a problem with the chronology of the movie. The flashbacks seemed carefully placed to gradually reveal all the incidents in the past that led to these characters being so damaged and angry at each other. The problem for me was that it didn't quite come together in a satisfying way as a whole.
