My Movie Rating:
9 / 10 Pretty good, despite the addition of a romance between Mary and Dickon that skips merrily over the class taboos of the time. Kate Maberly is the standout for me here.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 As far as I'm concerned, this is the best version of this story! All thre child actors were wonderful!

9 / 10 7 / 10 8 / 10 Heydon Prowse plays a difficult character in a very experienced way. The overall story is well-known. Its transformation in this version was good. The father-son aspect was a bit underdeveloped and lacked real emotional depth, especially from Colin's dad. I think one could have made this movie more sophisticated, more vivid and realistic. It's the genre though I guess that has to be considered. The magical elements were fine. However, it didn't make it to one of my favorites.
