Eight Legged Freaks (2002)

It's a pleasure to see Scott - but spiders are NOT funny!

Ellos Volvieron (2015)

Extremely disturbing and an obscure theme, at least to me. But it is beautifully made and photographed.

En Som Hodder (2003)

An entrancing and beautiful fantasy starring an entrancing and beautiful boy. Just delightful.

En tu ausencia (2008)

Gonzalo is breathtaking and heartbreaking in his character and looks, and supremely natural in his acting. I suffered with him at the ending.

The Enchanted Forest (1945)

A simple good-hearted film that kids, and those who love kids, love. And the acting is more than decent. (I did chuckle over the mean old lumberjacks marching and singing thru the woods.) What more to say?

According to TCM's David Osborne, it was made in 16mm and in Eastman Color by a small company that couldn't afford anything more expensive. Bless those little people.

Ender's Game (2013)

Granting the need to condense and change a novel to fit the needs of film storytelling, there must be a way of doing it without tearing out the soul of the novel. This has happened here, particularly with the ending. Crucial information is left out and leaves the story with just a generalized anti-war message. To say more would spoil the novel for those who haven't read it.

"War bad. Peace good. Tarzan know."

Enemy at the Gates (2001)

Love the smiles and worshipful glances Gabriel's character gives to Jude Law's. Can't help but suspect that that hero worship ran over into real life.

Eno nakano bokuno mura (1995)

The boys are very cute. The movie is anecdotal and episodic in the extreme and some of the episodes scream out for closure, which never comes.

Die Erben (1982)

Revisited this one recently and it hasn't improved (for me) with age. DVD quality is poor but I won't lay that against the makers.

El Espinazo del Diablo (2001)

Beautifully made, original film. The color photography is gorgeous. The boys are stunning. A run-thru of the DVD with the director's commentary is very rewarding - but you might be mad, as I was, at the director for a mean trick he admits he pulled toward the end of the film.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011)

I was very impressed and moved by Thomas Horn's acting. He really inhabits the character of a troubled and grieving boy.

I made the mistake of checking comments at Imdb. I have to stop doing that. They are, on the whole, sickening.
