King of the Hill (1993)
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10Kolya (1996)
Just a gorgeous movie :)
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10Lady in White (1988)
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10Lamb (1986)
A stark tale of a priest's (Liam Neeson as Michael Lamb) doomed love for a boy (Hugh O'Connor as Owen Kane) at a home run by the Catholic church. Owen is epileptic, and has already suffered beatings from his mother (Frances Tomelty) and her various boyfriends over the years. But when she puts him in the boy's home, his suffering continues, this time at the hands of the headmaster (Ian Bannen). Lamb, whose father has just died and who has lost his faith, runs away with Owen to London, chased by the police. Although some may rightly question Lamb's methods, it is a moving, if chilling, story of the lengths to which the priest will go to save Owen from the world....
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10Lassie (1994)
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10Last Christmas (1999)
Fantastic drama/fantasy along the lines of A Christmas Carol. Brilliant debut by Phillip Dowling as well.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10The Lawnmower Man (1992)
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004)
I'd agree with Teddy that they could have done more with the film. But very enjoyable all the same.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10Liar Liar (1997)
A good Jim Carrey movie - you'll hate it if you don't like him.
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10Little Man Tate (1991)
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10Little Monsters (2003)
Highly entertaining show - they've picked a good mix of kids with strong characters.
The question is always there though - how much input did the kids actually have? Sometimes it seems like the challenges are designed by adults who are trying to think like kids.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10The Little Rascals (1994)
I haven't seen the original series, but I'm quite sure this isn't a patch on it.
My Movie Rating: 5 / 10The Little Vampire (2000)
Rollo Weeks was good, Jim Carter's comic bits were good, the rest was twee if not bad, and Richard E. Grant should bloody well know better.
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10The Long Day Closes (1992)
Fantastic “stream of consciousness” drama about the life of a lonely boy.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10Look Who's Talking Now (1993)
Quite watchable family comedy. The celebrity voice-over thing was only really amusing in the first movie, but they've done enough with the movies since so as not to be an annoyance.
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10Lord of the Flies (1963)
THE classic adaptation of William Golding's novel.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10Lord of the Flies (1990)
An Americanised version of the novel in all the ways that it could be. To my mind the whole point of the novel was that, on arrival at the island, the boys were all innocent and untouched by the horrors that humanity can subject itself to, which is then destroyed as anarchy and violence take over. The boys in this movie however are older and far more worldy-wise, which makes the transition from innocence to evil rather pointless. Peter Brook's version is far superior.
Still, some good scenes nonetheless :)
My Movie Rating: 5 / 10Lost In Space (1998)
My Movie Rating: 6 / 10The Lost Prince (2003)
Very well written, and well acted by all concerned - an interesting insight into a not so well known part of British royal family history.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10Luminous Motion (1998)
A bizarre & chilly, but fantastic movie.
