Synopsis
Igby Slocumb (Kieran Culkin) is a rebellious and sarcastic seventeen-year-old boy trying to escape his screwed up family, including a distant self-absorbed mother, a schizophrenic father, a shark-like young Republican big brother, and a capitalist uncle who insists on teaching him life lessons. He flunks out of or gets expelled from several prep schools, and after a brief stay at millitary school, decides to escape into the bohemian underworld of Manhattan, which is populated by a cast of excentric characters.

- Movie was filmed between February and April 2001.
- Rory Culkin and Peter Tambakis have minor parts, playing younger versions of Igby and his brother, in several flashbacks.

obviously inspired by The Catcher in the Rye but it's a very good movie Kieran is great and so is Rory in his part as young Igby.
