Synopsis
Sam, the 12 year old son of a famous missing polar explorer, is in despair. His mother has remarried and they have moved to the wastelands of Canada. Sam doesn't like his stepfather, the place, and he has problems finding new friends. One day he meets a wild dog which looks like the leader of one of his father's sled dogs. With this dog and the two family dogs, Sam plans to compete in this year's sled dog race. He befriends the neighbor's daughter who is able to build the sled. But her father wants to kill all wild dogs...
