Synopsis
In Depression era Chicago hitman Michael Sullivan is known to friends and enemies alike as the Angel of Death. Uncompromising in his work, Sullivan is just as devoted to his private life as an upstanding husband and father of two young boys. But when those worlds collide, taking the lives of his wife and younger son, Sullivan and his surviving son, Michael Jr., leave their sedate home life behind and embark on a startling journey of revenge.

10 / 10 You won't get a much better 30s atmosphere movie than this one. The period detail is amazing. Tyler Hoechlin plays the lead role as the son of a gangster hitman. He's sharing the screen with cinema stars like Tom Hanks and Paul Newman yet holds his own. A brooding story reflecting the harsh, brutal world of godfather-style gangsters. The car the father and son drive in makes you want to get behind the wheel of one of those marvellous contraptions!
Violent and dramatic, 'The Road to Perdition' is a great film. Everyone just about gets bumped off. I even feared at the end when Michael goes back to the old farming couple for sanctuary that the wife was going to come out with a gun and blow HIS head off!
