Synopsis
Set in 1960's France in an Arabic shanty town, this movie follows nine year old Omar as he relates with family and peers and has a number of adventures. The three major vignettes concern Omar and his cousin reluctantly preparing for their circumcision, our hero finding himself ostracized at school since he will not help some of the slower kids cheat and the boy's uncle threatening the community as a whole by setting up a black-market butcher shop.
