Synopsis
The poet Valentijn Boecke is not only known for his writing, but also for his militant non-conformity and drug usage. He has a life changing event when he meets Mieke the teacher who encouraged him when he was young. He meets her again after her life has taken a downward spiral of alcoholism and internalized rage. He is drawn to her and they make passionate love. She disappears, but returns a few months later - pregnant.

- Based on the book by Boudewijn Büch, which is written as if it were the autobiography of famed Dutch poet Valentine Boecke.

2 / 10 Author Boudewijn Buch was alleged to have lost his young son, but this remains rather obscure. The resulting novel is certainly worth reading. The film with young Olivier Tuinier in the leading role deserves a wider audience.
Antonie Kamerling suffered from depression and sadly ended his life voluntarily in October 2010.
