Synopsis
Rita Ronaldi is a broke, unemployed, unskilled, single mom with no foreseeable future. But burbling within this downtrodden soul lies a steely determination for a better life. Rita takes a job as a meter maid. Just as the world is about to nail her to a cross, her survival instinct kicks in with a vengeance. Armed with newfound self-esteem, the ride gets even bumpier. Throughout, Rita struggles to keep the secrets of her past from her ailing son, only to find the ugly truth popping up at every turn. It's a fragile web of trust that keeps mother and son together through their punishing yet spirited misadventure.
