Synopsis
Francie and Joe live the usual playful, fantasy filled childhoods of normal boys. However, with a violent, alcoholic father and a suicidal mother the pressures on Francie are immense. His mother commits suicide and Joe is sent to boarding school, so Francie sinks deeper into paranoia directed mainly against Mrs. Nugent, a nasty neighbour. After his father dies Francie's condition worsens and his behaviour becoming more erratic culminating in murder.

9 / 10 What a tremendous movie. The whole film is riveting from beginning to end. Eamonn Owens is brilliant as the psychotic Francie, the very personable Alan Boyle plays his best friend Joe beautifully, and I even felt quite sorry for Phillip Nugent, played by Andrew Fullerton. Highly recommended.

10 / 10 When bad things happen to good people you can get an electric film. This movie is truly a gem. I enjoyed it from start to finish. The Cuban Missile Crises playing out in the background adds a fitting sub-plot to the story. I'll be watching this movie many time in the years to come.
