Synopsis

The early 1920's. The school year begins in a small Bosnian village, marking the end of a carefree childhood for two young villagers who most of all love to hear their grandfather's stories about the Hajduk. Meanwhile, things in the village are not going well, a police constable arrives from the city, who must take food and livestock from the peasants because of tax debts. A year earlier, the Hajduk recaptured what had been taken by the police and returned to their mountains after the raid. The boys' elder brother Raseta fled with them. The boys believe that their brother and the brave Hajduk will again come to the aid of the villagers.
