Synopsis
George Waters is a young boy happily living with his eccentric grandfather, retired sailor Captain Waters who tells him exciting tales of buried treasure. An interfering schoolteacher motivates the child welfare organization to place George in a foster home, much to his dismay. When his foster parents turn out to be nightmarish folks, George must find a way to escape and get back to his beloved grandfather

A fairly good film with a host of eccentric characters in it. Nathaniel Moreau was good, of course, but Maury Chaykin, playing the man from Children's Services, was also good. Comical and at times heart rending, 'George's Island' is a pleasant watch but no more than that.
