Synopsis
Four siblings discover a strange egg hidden in an old carpet from which hatches a talking phoenix - who explains that the carpet is a magic one that will grant them three wishes each day.
Notes
- Transmitted as an 8-episode miniseries between December 1976 and February 1977
- Based on the 1904 novel of the same name by English writer E. Nesbit (1858-1924), the novel was the second in a trilogy of books following the adventures of Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane and the Lamb, preceded by "Five Children and It" (1902) and succeeded by "The Story of the Amulet" (1906).
