Synopsis
When the kind and elderly woodcarver Geppetto finishes work on a wooden marionette whom he names Pinocchio, he makes a wish upon a star that Pinocchio become a real boy. In the night, the Blue Fairy magically brings Pinocchio to life, explains to the newly sentient puppet that he can become a real boy if he proves himself brave, truthful and unselfish, and appoints Jiminy Cricket to serve as the wooden boy's conscience. But the naive and trusting Pinocchio is very easily led astray...
Notes
- Adapted from the children's novel "Le avventure di Pinocchio" (first published as a serial 1881-2, and as a book in 1883) by Italian author Carlo Collodi (1826-1890)
- This was the second animated feature film produced by Disney, following the successful "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937).
- In 1994 this film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

9 / 10 Animated yes but surely even animated films featuring a boy are acceptable on BA? This is a Walt Disney classic and beautifully rendered and full of great one liners and musical numbers.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10 I am not into completely animated (some partly animated is acceptable) films but since this is on the site, I shall give it this rating.
