Synopsis
In the Camargue region of southern France, a young boy bonds with a white stallion named Crin blanc (White Mane) - and boy and stallion attempt to evade a group of ranchers who wish to capture the stallion and corral him.
Notes
- For hundreds and possibly thousands of years, small horses known as Camargue horses - like those seen in the film - have lived wild in the Camargue marshes of the Rh?ne delta.
- The film was shot entirely in the Petite Camargue region just to the west of the Petit Rh?ne, the western arm of the Rh?ne delta.
- This film won the Grand Prix at the 1953 Cannes Film Festival, and was also the winner of the 1953 Prix Jean Vigo.
