Synopsis

In the Camargue region of southern France, a young boy bonds with a white stallion named Crin blanc (White Mane) - and boy and stallion attempt to evade a group of ranchers who wish to capture the stallion and corral him.

Notes

For hundreds and possibly thousands of years, small horses known as Camargue horses - like those seen in the film - have lived wild in the Camargue marshes of the Rh?ne delta.
The film was shot entirely in the Petite Camargue region just to the west of the Petit Rh?ne, the western arm of the Rh?ne delta.
This film won the Grand Prix at the 1953 Cannes Film Festival, and was also the winner of the 1953 Prix Jean Vigo.
