Amarcord
(1973)
Country: Italy
Synopsis
Young Titta observes various local eccentrics, from his extended family, to Fascist loyalists, to sensual women, in a film comprising a series of humorous - but affectionate and nostalgic - vignettes set in a 1930s Italian seaside town.
Notes
- Directed by Federico Fellini
- The film's title is a univerbation (the contraction of more than one word into a single word) of the Romagnolo phrase "a m'arcord", meaning "I remember".
- Released to universal critical acclaim, Fellini's film received numerous awards (too many to list), including an Oscar for "Best Foreign Language Film" (1975).
