A spoof comedy which parodied the disaster movies of the 1970s. When the crew of a jet are incapacitated due to food poisoning, a rogue pilot with a drinking problem must cooperate with his ex-girlfriend turned stewardess to bring the plane to a safe landing.

These 3 points went to David Hollander. Without him this film would have been a dud.

I'm not sure that this is among the best comedies ever made, as some have claimed; my own best comedies list would feature Pierre Étaix's The Suitor, Le Grand amour and As Long As You've Got Your Health; Harold Lloyd's The Freshman, For Heaven's Sake, Never Weaken, I Do, An Eastern Westerner, Safety Last! and Number, Please?; Buster Keaton's The Cameraman, The Navigator, The General and Sherlock Jr; and, go on, Duck Soup, Le chômeur de Clochemerle and Withnail and I too. But that's a matter of personal taste, and this one is quite special: not exactly sophisticated, but very funny and very sharp.
