8 / 10 Genre pastiche and period recreation, made adeptly and lovingly. At times a bit heavier on the gore and body horror than many will care for. The Upside Down is a nice idea nicely shown and there are some emotionally truthful and touching parts -- Mike's caring friendship with the sensitive Will, Will's grief that his friends are growing up and away from him, the love between Mike and Eleven, Steve's development. I even liked the Chicago episode. Can't stand Murray though. The first series was a closely focused mystery, the second season expanded on it really well, the third season was kind of the silly season, but still enjoyable.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10 Great Character development, a beautiful blending of live action and CGI! This one of the best shows to come along in a while, this show will take you through most emotions!
Caution! make sure to watch Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix, BEFORE watching Beyond Stranger Things, this is because Beyond is a conference style talk about the show in detail, and there a lot of Spoilers! at the end S2. Beyond will start automatically. Oh, btw, I love the music in the show!
