Notes
- Based on the 1925 novella of the same name by Fr?d?ric Boutet (1874-1941), director Jacques Feyder conceived "Gribiche" as a vehicle for Jean Forest, the Montmartre boy he had discovered and cast in "Crainquebille" in 1922 and again in "Visages d?enfants" - the three films thus forming a trilogy illuminated by one of the silent screen?s most moving boy actors.

- Jean Forest

This is probably Jean Forest's best performance. Although this is hard since he is so good in all his films. A very simple film--the boy returns a purse to this rich lady and instead of rewarding him she wants to adopt him to make him, in her words, a more proper gentleman when he grows up. But as you will see, this plan of hers didn't work out as well as she likes. She just picked the wrong boy.
