Pretty good adaptation, but not as good as the faithful 1975 BBC miniseries. A miniseries also provides more elbow-room for conveying the emotional development Mary and Colin -- unlike the statically perfect Cedric Errol and Sara Crewe -- undergo in the book. Even there, though, Colin's story in particular is shortchanged by some rushed moments and some spots of weak acting.
