Some of the most realistic classroom scenes ever shot, surpassed only by those in Entre les murs, Ole dole doff and The Forest for the Trees, and a great performance by first-time actor Daniel Connors, with his twin sister playing his girlfriend! One of the best films to come out of Australia, together with Samson and Delilah and Ten Canoes.

Daniel Connors was awesome in this film, a boy who really didn't know what to do. He got kicked out of school for a short while. He started hanging out with some of his adult friends only to learn later they were criminals. The part that really got to me was when he was by the river crying. That really tore me up. This was one of those few Australian outback movies that came out and what a jewel this film was.
