Synopsis
Mohammad attends Tehran's institute for the blind. The summer vacation arrives and his father takes him to their village. The lad is a loving student of nature and longs for village life with his family, but his father is ashamed of him, wanting to farm the boy out to clear the way for marriage to a woman who knows nothing of this son. Mohammad is therefore apprenticed far from home to a blind carpenter.

8 / 10 Full of simple beauty and warmth but a touch sentimental. It's deservedly popular, but there's a bit of a tendency for non-Iranian audiences to focus on it too much, while overlooking better Iranian films such as Leila, Secret Ballot, Under the Skin of the City, The Day I Became a Woman, The Circle and A Separation.
