Synopsis
Jack Torrance gets a job as the custodian of a hotel in the mountains of Colorado. The place is closed during winter, so he and his family are the only occupants. When a snow storm isolates the family in the hotel, Jack's son Danny - who has some clairvoyance and telepathy powers - discovers that the hotel is haunted and the spirits are slowly driving Jack crazy. Jack meets the ghost of Mr. Grady, the former custodian of the hotel who murdered his wife and daughters.

9 / 10 6 / 10 9 / 10 This film was recently shown on BBC TV. While the photography is good the acting is best described as 'over the top' by the adult actors. Danny Lloyd is great in his part but I don't think he knew much about what was going on.

Stanley Kubrick and Shelley Duvall didn't get along well on set either.
