Synopsis
Mary, a young British girl born and reared in India loses her neglectful parents in an elephant stampede. She is returned to England to live at her uncle's castle. Her uncle is very distant due to the loss of his wife ten years before. Neglected once again, she begins exploring the estate and soon discovers Colin, her bedridden cousin, and a secret garden that once belonged to her deceased aunt. With the help of Colin and the gardener's son, Dickon, and a little 'magic' Mary finds a way to bring love back to her family.

9 / 10 Pretty good, despite the addition of a romance between Mary and Dickon that skips merrily over the class taboos of the time. Kate Maberly is the standout for me here.
