Synopsis
10 part BBC mini series based on the autobiographical adventures of Gerald Durrell's childhood. When his eccentric family move to sunny Corfu in the 1930s young Gerald begins a lifetime's fascination with nature. He explores the landscape and wildlife, and befriends the local populace. Fearing her son is growing too wild, his mother decides that he recieve a 'proper' education.
