Synopsis
A young boy lives in a small floating temple on a beautiful lake, together with an elderly master who teaches him the ways of the Buddha. Years later the boy, now a young man, experiences his sexual awakening with a girl who has come to the temple to be healed by the master. The youth runs away to the outside world but his lust turns his life into hell, so he returns to the lake temple to find spiritual enlightenment.

Hm, yes it does seem to be made deliberately to manipulate export audiences.
My Movie Rating: 5 / 10 A very Buddhist film with lots of symbolism about the cycle of life and the paths we choose to follow on the journey of 'enlightenment'. Visually beautiful but very slow paced. Not a lot of boy content and what there is, is not all that interesting. Not a movie I'd recommend except to those who are searching for some sort of spiritual alternative to Christianity or whatever.
