Stars Julie Christie and Alan Bates, script by Harold Pinter based on the novel by physician and author L. P. Hartley. With all these famous names you can't go far wrong: though not as well-known, this can easily stand alongside its excellent and more famous cousins the Alan Bates films A Kind of Loving and Butley and the Pinter-scripted film The Collection, which also stars Bates, alongside Laurence Olivier, Helen Mirren and Malcolm McDowell.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10Dominic looks about 15, although he probably was 14 at the time of filming. According to the novel (and the screenplay) Richard would have been 12 or 13, the same as Leo, but he also looks about 15 or even older. Proper casting would have resulted in an even higher rating on my part.
