Synopsis
12-year-old George, tired of beatings from his foster parents, runs away from home. We follow his encounters with characters such as Dirty Jim who lives in a filthy hovel and tells George about the mythical, eight-foot bogey man called 'The Fool Killer.' Eventually George meets Milo Bogardus (Anthony Perkins), a young Civil War veteran who doesn't seem quite right. A Reverand is murdered and George thinks the killer is the 'Fool Killer'.
