Biography
Born Vitya Volkov, in Alapayevsk, Russia, Vitya lost his father a couple of years after his birth. When his widowed mother married the actor Ivan Kosykh, young Vitya adopted his stepfather's surname. His first acting role came when he was just 13 years old, in the 1964 film "Welcome, or No Trespassing" (from whence the Profile picture on this page is taken). This movie made the young actor quite a star, and invitations for further acting roles began to roll in. His greatest success, however, came when he starred as the heroic Danka in "The Elusive Avengers" (1967) and its two sequels. It was also around this time that he became known as Viktor. After the Elusive Avengers films, he would enjoy a steady acting career until the 1990s, though he would never quite attain the same level of fame and popularity that he enjoyed in his younger days. He also married (twice) and had three children. In the 1990s, when Russian film production was somewhat in the doldrums, Viktor practically stopped appearing in films and instead concentrated on theatre acting. On December 22nd 2011, Viktor was found dead in his apartment, having died suddenly of acute heart failure.
