Biography
Walter 'Spec' O'Donnell was quite a celebrity in the mid-Twenties. A special company was formed to make two-reelers starring him, and Douglas Fairbanks is said to have called him the greatest child star of the day. John Holmstrom writes of him: "To call Spec 'homely' would imply that your home was in grave need of repair. Beady little eyes peering out over a disastrous profile gave the impression of some shy, decrepit jungle creature flushed from its lair." Be that as it may, Spec continued to act in innumerable movies (and later, TV shows) into the 1970s. The filmography on this page only follows his credits up to 1931.
