As well as acting, Eddie also enjoyed a brief career as a popular singer. His first hit was "I'm Gonna Knock On Your Door", and he recorded the original version of "Ain't Gonna Wash for a Week". His last appearance in the charts was in 1963.
In addition to the professional engagements listed in his filmography, Hodges made a memorable appearance on the game show "Name That Tune" in which he partnered with John Glenn, the future astronaut. He was also a 'mystery guest' in an episode of "What's My Line?". Complete footage of the latter programme is available on YouTube.
