Well, yes, it's nonsense. The problem is that the boy Damien is very personable in the first half. Then he's told about his destiny by his officer at the military academy and he becomes sullen and not so talkative and starts putting the whammy on everyone. He is shown to have some initial conflict about his destiny, which is soon resolved (we are not privy to how). This suggests that he has a choice as to whether to accept this destiny or not. What a pity that Damien doesn't read what comes AFTER chapter 13 in the Book of Revelation. Then he might find that the Anti-Christ comes to a sticky end, and perhaps decide to have nothing to do with this caper after all. You'd think he'd at least read on till the end of the book to find out what happens to him! That's what you get when you raise kids with short attention spans. But if the film is so darn silly, then why do I secretly enjoy it so much? File under 'Guilty Pleasure'.

It wasn't a good idea to make a sequel to The Omen. This one ends up looking like an excuse for showing more and gorier deaths. On reflection I think the main trouble with it, apart from its being simply not very good and in spots, e.g. the replacement of the first movie's dogs with ravens, quite gimmicky, is what it does to the character of Damien. The blank child of the original, whom we could imagine to be thinking whatever we liked, acquires a personality and quite a few lines and feelings of conflict over his destiny, and so becomes somewhat humanised.

Jonathan was outstanding! very convincing, this movie was resposible for starting the phobia on Rott-Weilers, the scene were 2 attack the man on the bridge, I saw a show yrs. later that pointed at this theory, this movie did extremely well at the box office, so it's understandable why the phobia got started! superb acting, Jonathan and Lucas did well up against some A-List actors!

I hope this wasn't the only movie Jonathan was in, he has a strong screen presence, and he's "Drop Dead" gorgeous! :)

3/10/13 I must correct myself, I was mistaken on which movie the scene of the Rottwieler's attack on the man on the bridge, it was the 1st movie, "The Omen" 1976 with Gregory Peck and Harvey Stephens as Damien! I apologize for the mistake!
