I'm thankful to have this on DVD. This film is very sensational and wonderful, it's a experience of a lifetime. This film has inspired me and my friends in many ways. I'm happy that I shared this film with them. I recommend this film for everyone.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10Unwatchable garbage.
My Movie Rating: 2 / 10Freddie Highmore was radiant and supremely winning as usual. My musical prejudices almost ruined the movie for me completely (the guy's singing). I usually love movies showing reality tinged with fantasy, but I do know when I am being had.
Also, I find that most popular movies that run almost to, or beyond 2 hours are heavily padded. This one could have easily been trimmed to 100 minutes.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10Yup, very melodramatic, over-the-top ending spoilt it somewhat so 8/10. However, I can see myself watching this film several more times. Freddie rates a 10/10. Average is a 9/10.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10I agree with the previous comments. Freddie did a very good job, but the ending in particular was so very unrealistic and melodramatic I had to smile :)
The story is very nice and inspirational nonetheless.
My Movie Rating: 7 / 10I also loved the movie. Yes, the story line may seem a bit improbable or the writer may seem prone to "flights of fancy." However, movies were not originally meant to either mimic or represent reality. Rather they were meant to be an escape from reality and to appeal to the "flights of fancy" in all of us. As always a superb performance from Freddie Highmore who I consider one of the greatest child actors of this generation.
My Movie Rating: 9 / 10Poorly scripted but wonderfully performed.
My Movie Rating: 8 / 10I, for one, loved the movie... but I happen to like movies with musical prodigies! Les Choristes, for example, or Sound of Music. It's got some unbelievable coincidences (I mean that literally), but heck, it IS a movie after all. I went back and saw it a second time. For a buck, why NOT!? I didn't say "Must Watch" because it's great for ME, but maybe it's not for everyone.
