The Spring (2000)
My Movie Rating: 5 / 10Spy Hard (1996)
Worth watching just to catch Mason... easily the best thing in the whole movie.

My Movie Rating: 5 / 10Star Kid (1997)
Joseph Mazzello is quite good in this really bad movie. The 'special' effects are on a similiar level to an episode of The Power Rangers... horrible. Joseph is the only reason I give the movie 5 points. The movie itself gets a zero.

My Movie Rating: 5 / 10That's What I Am (2011)
This is a very contrived and cliched movie, that seems to be inspired by a combination of TV's 'The Wonder Years' and 'Freaks and Geeks'. Unfortunately, the whole movie has an air of untruth about it. Everything from oh so homely and nostalgia by the numbers narration to the ridiculous where are they now inserts during the ending credits. It's also way too politically correct. Were the film makers too afraid to actually have the teacher as a gay person rather than a straight guy subject to rumours? There were plenty of real gay teachers back then and it was genuinely tough for them. It's almost as if the movie was written to introduce very naive young audiences to the concepts of homosexuality, being different, and bullying. But don't worry children, he's not homo at all, so nothing to fear, and as for the bullies they all end up as drug addicts or in jail. Ed Harris and Chase Ellison deserve better than this pile of sappy unconvincing goo.
