Witness (1985)

Lucas Haas was never more adorable.

Womb (2010)

Not bad. My own 2 hour rule still applies: cuts amounting to about 15 minutes would improve the film considerably.

A Wrinkle in Time (2003)

Hmm. I think a core of simplicity is the key to a good fantasy adventure. This one seems cluttered up with unnecessary events and characters. But David Dorfman is well worth seeing.

The X Files (1993-2018)

To me, the first 3 or 4 seasons were a treat. Practically all my favorite episodes fall outside of the 'aliens among us' thing, a running plot scheme which as the seasons wore on became very tiresome and incomprehensible. The 2 main characters, agents Mulder and Scully, had a unique and pleasing chemistry - never romantically involved but nevertheless devoted to one another and behaving exactly like a married couple.

The Yearling (1946)

Just viewed it again after many years. Claude Jarmin is unforgettable and totally real in his part of Jody. The film is a fine blend of gritty realism and tender beauty.

The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet (2013)

An unusual approach to movie storytelling, a bit "wonky" as JosephK says, but it draws you in and is very touching.

The Young Messiah (2016)

Naturally the best parts of the movie are when Adam Greaves-Neal is the center of the action. He gives a very touching and underplayed performance.

A couple notches above its counterpart, 'Jumanji.' Jonah Bobo is adorable.
